F1 Replay · About & credits

An independent race replay viewer. Telemetry and timing are measured; track width, car geometry, weather intensity and flow effects are approximations.

Car models: one shared model per season, recoloured for every team. They are visual proxies, not each team's actual chassis. Branding and original liveries are removed; geometry is simplified, re-rigged and recoloured.

2026: active-aero mode is unknown when absent from telemetry; it is never inferred from missing DRS data.

Race data: OpenF1 and FastF1 for historical imports. Circuit information: MultiViewer; circuit outlines and altitudes for wind and air density: f1-circuits (MIT), checked against F1DB (CC BY 4.0); track map drawings: F1DB (CC BY 4.0). These are unofficial. F1 data belongs to Formula One World Championship Ltd. This project is not affiliated with Formula 1 or its teams.

Detailed car models cover 2018 onward; earlier imports use generic geometry. Precomputed Race Flow covers 2023 onward.

The wind tunnel is an unvalidated flow illustration; its simulated forces are withheld. The drag it shows is measured instead, from each car's full-throttle acceleration in the race, with the slipstream and DRS effects measured the same way. The order between cars is reliable; absolute values are good to about ±15%. 2026 races are not measured.

Car pitch and roll are estimated from each car's braking and cornering (about 0.3° per g, slightly more than a real car moves). Crashes are found from the position feed; impact effects are illustrations sized by the measured speed and deceleration.
